Waxe izhazhe wiwita-the Kristine Sudbeck. Wasisige onthada.
My name is Kristine Sudbeck. Others call me Wasisige.
Nibthaska tapuska monshiade khe nutahonga bthin.
I serve as the Vice President of Academic Affairs at NICC.
I first came to NICC as a student during 2014, while studying Omaha language I and II with Alice Saunsoci inthinge. I began working at NICC as a Research and Development Advisor/Faculty Member in the summer of 2016, while also continuing to study Omaha language III and IV with Hawatay (Winona) Caramony inthinge. As a waxe w鈥檃u, the Omaha language is not my own ancestral language. It is a humbling experience, and I truly believe that there is so much that one can learn through the language. I recognize that I still have much more to learn from elders, community members, our own students, and one another.
Thathi-the udon. It is good that you are here. Welcome!
